Keeping your visual style consistent

Consistency doesn’t mean everything looks identical. It means your content feels like it comes from the same place. When people see your posts, your site, and your on-screen content, they should recognise it as yours within a second or two.

This matters because recognition creates trust. If your style changes constantly, you feel less reliable. If your style stays coherent, you feel established — even if you’re a small local business.

Consistency is usually made up of a few simple ingredients:

  • Colour: one primary accent (like your red) and a small set of supporting tones.
  • Typography: the same few font sizes and weights, used in the same way.
  • Layout: predictable placements for titles, captions, and logos.
  • Tone: the way you speak — calm, direct, friendly, bold.

When you have these basics, creating content becomes easier. You’re not reinventing design every time. You can focus on the message.

A good test: scroll through your last 9 posts. Do they look like a collection from one brand, or like nine different brands? If it’s the second, a small style system will make a huge difference.

At The ONE Media, we design video graphics, captions, and screen layouts so they carry your brand without distracting from the story. Over time, that consistency builds a visual signature — and that signature builds momentum.
